Fall Is Coming!!

It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner already and where did the summer go? It really feel like we had much of a summer, with the late snow melt, along with the slow rise of the ground temps and late start to the planting season.
But here it is, as some of the leaves are starting to change along with the cooler nights, it has us planning for the upcoming fall season. Are you ready for it?
We’d like an extended summer to make up for the season that never really took off this year, with late blooming gardens and a shortened mowing season. Please don’t misunderstand me, fall is my favorite time of the year and many services are available for the fall season. We’ve been getting everything ready to go, except for our leaf loader.
Fall is also a great time to plant for next spring, pruning, aerating and over-seed your lawn along with fertilizing and fall cleanups here in Norway Maine.

Spring Projects

Sitting in the office on this bitter cold winter morning and thinking about this years spring projects, while searching the various plant selections, landscaping trends, other various products and equipment and thinking about the coming Home & Garden Shows as we head into the 2017 landscaping season.
There are so many plants, shrubs and variations of each, one could spend hours/ days searching and dreaming about which ones plants or shrubs to choose and the possibility adding veggies and creating a edible garden. Will your new garden have a live natural edge, a stone border, border plants (whether annuals or perennials) or possibly a raised box garden, one could even add a decorative concrete border.
Will there be children/ pets to consider when planning your new gardens or landscape projects. Their are so many ideas to rummage through and factors to consider during the planning process, one could be easily overwhelmed with all the information out there. But, don’t worry, we have plenty of time still to search and sift thru the many plants/ shrubs and stone choices during planning process before spring.
We would encourage everyone to get out to the Home & Garden Shows, talk to your local nurseries and garden clubbers for ideas and answers to any questions you may have.

Happy Spring!!

Durgin’s Lawn & Landscape would like to wish everyone a great spring season. A time to get our seed started kits going and plan those landscape projects, as we begin to see signs of grass and flowerbeds.

Here in Norway Maine, we still have a good amount of snow to melt, but slowly things are melting. So in the meantime we’ve been working on our marketing, as well as our lawn care equipment.

Are you looking forward to getting out there and digging in the dirt, planting new flowers, spending time with family as you enjoy your your new outdoor living center? There’s nothing like relaxing around a fire pit under the stars, roasting marshmallows and just letting the cares of the week wash away, even if just for a little while.

Hopefully, you’ve been planning your spring projects or at least tossing around a few ideas for the new season on what your going to plant, whether a perennial garden or a vegetable garden and we wish you a great season.

Also, don’t forget to service your lawn mower, so when the grass starts growing, it’ll be ready to handle your lawn care needs this season.

Happy Planting!!
